Welcome back to The NGCS’ Home Builds. In this months edition we are headed all the way over Phoenix, Arizona to visit The H&C Mobile Cigar Lounge build and operated by two friends, Hollywood Lohrenz and Charles Heim. This unique airstream is not just a Home Build, but also a mobile business. I’ll hand the reigns over to Charles now too walk you through The H&C Mobile Cigar Lounge..
Hollywood and I met over cigars and hit it off. I recognized he would make a good partner, so we kicked around several business ideas. One day relaxing at the local lounge, Hollywood says to me, “You know Phoenix is the 3rd largest cigar community in the county with over 60 cigar lounges. But there are no mobile cigar lounges in the entire state.” It sounded to me like a problem that we could fix. We both agreed there’s nothing cooler than a big ass, shiny, vintage Airstream
We spent about 3 months looking until we found a 32-footer that thanks to the pandemic, became an abandoned project originally intended as a greenroom for Miranda Lambert while she was on tour. It was gutted with the exception of a feature wall with a built-in fireplace and bar, so we decided to design the build around those features. In 6 months with my investment, Hollywood’s skills and the help of good friends, we replaced all the floor, moved the bar, painted the walls, installed custom benches, a custom built-in humidor complete with an Oasis and smoke eater. Rewired the whole thing and installed led lighting throughout. Added a kickass stereo system, TVs, A/C units, exhaust fans, cooling fans and an additional smoke eater. The real crowd pleasers, other than a spectacular humidor, is the custom diner booth with cigar box lids epoxied right inside the table top, the old school tin ceiling tiles and an impressive one piece 22’ wrap we designed showcasing famous public figures with cigars; from Al Pachino to Winston Churchill.
