Zac Ansells’ 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody – SMOKIN’ RIDES by Chris Lapointe

Hey everyone, El Presidente here and I want to welcome you to the inaugural “Smokin’ Rides” article of The NGCS Cigar & Lifestyle Magazine. A few months back I asked members of our Facebook group “Not Gentlemanly Cigar Smokers” if they’d be interested in submitting pictures and articles about their rides. The reaction was overwhelming.  After going through dozens of submissions we narrowed down a few to get us started and for this month we are visiting our friend Zac Ansell in Phoenix, Arizona to take a peek at his 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody. Let’s hand this over to Zac..

This is my 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody, purchased in early 2019. The car features a custom camo wrap installed by a good friend, as well as several performance modifications tailored toward drag racing, which is a big hobby of mine. This is the third challenger I have owned and raced as I have always been a Dodge enthusiast, ever since my father owned several Cummins diesel trucks when I was young. These cars are the reason for my success as an attorney in Phoenix, AZ, where I primarily defend the local car scene from street racing charges at my firm, Ansell Law PLLC.

I decided to go this route with the car for two reasons: The hellcat is the only muscle car that truly kept its retro-styling consistent with the models we all know from the 60’s and 70’s, and also because it is one of the fastest stock production cars that exist today. Still, there is no such thing as too fast, and for the same price as a custom paint-job, it is easy to push this car toward 1000 horsepower with fairly simple modifications. When you’re a drag racing lover, it’s a no brainer. The car came stock with 717hp, and 305/20 wheels on all four corners making it ideal for drag racing or track racing. Personally, I have tailored mine toward the former and run 315 drag radials at all times so I can effectively use all the power I’ve got. I drive this car daily, and always get spotted around town thanks to the color scheme—clients love it!

When you are crazy enough to put 35k miles each year on a car like this, you’re not afraid to use it. I eat in my car, I race my car, and you’re damn right I smoke in my car. It’s a part of who I am and what I love to do.
